How His Little Mind Works

Lately, Tate has proven to be quite educated on things I didn't realize he noticed.  A couple of weeks ago, he proudly informed Mom and I:  "In our family, we're going to have six moms and three dads."  He paused thoughtfully, and added, "and if we don't have a lot of cars, then we can't go to church!"  Who would have thought that a 5-year-old knew that six daughters and three sons means there's the potential for that many moms and dads?  :)


He has a stomach virus right now and he knows that today he can only have clear liquids, but he is a "think outside the box" kind of a little man.  He sat on the big green chair in the kitchen and pondered this bummer news.  When he'd come to the conclusion that he was seeking, his face lit up and he said excitedly, "Abbie, apple juice comes from apples, so I can have apples today!"  A wonderful example of how his little mind works.  He makes me laugh.

 This is a rare luxury.  It's been a really long time since his busy little body would sit still long enough for me to snuggle him.
